Video

The "Video" element is used to add video content to our web page.

To access the settings of the video, we need to double-click quickly on it, or we can find them in the menu on the right, which appears after the element is selected.

The settings menu opens on the right side of the screen and appears as follows:

The settings are divided into three categories: Selection, Edit, and Posters. Let's look at the most important ones.

File upload

File upload - From here, we can upload a video file saved on our computer.

File by url - Through this option, we can upload a video from an external website (e.g., YouTube).

Recent uploads - From this option, we can select a video that has already been uploaded to the site. The "Open Media" button opens all media files used on the site, sorted into different categories.
Uploading is done by clicking on the file's icon. (In the example image below, you can see what an uploaded video looks like in the media gallery.)

Edit

  • Show video controls - This setting is checked by default. It displays the basic video control buttons - play/pause, volume control, full-screen display, and others.
  • Autostart - When the page is loaded, the video starts playing automatically, with muted sound.
  • Hide tablet - The video will not be displayed on tablets.
  • Hide mobile - The video will not be displayed on mobile phones.
  • Hide desktop - The video will not be displayed on desktop computers.
  • Fluid video player - This setting is checked by default. The dimensions of the uploaded video file are loaded automatically to look good on different resolutions and devices.
  • Disable lazy loading - The video loads simultaneously with the page load. When the video is in the content, we do not recommend using this option to ensure faster loading of the web page.

Posters

Poster upload - Through this option, we can add an image to be displayed while the video is loading (if set to start automatically) or until the video is manually started by pressing play.
